The Department of Communication at the University of Kentucky invites applications for a full-time tenure track position at the rank of assistant professor beginning August 15, 2010, pending final budgetary approval. Expertise in risk and crisis communication, Ph.D. in communication, evidence of excellence in teaching, and research and publication credentials commensurate with departments in Research I universities required. Responsibilities include teaching two courses per semester, actively engaging in research, and participating on program and student committees.
The Department is a part of a College of Communications and Information Studies with master's and doctoral programs. The Department has an active research faculty with a consistent record of extramural funding and has been recognized for teaching excellence by the University. Faculty specialties include interpersonal, mass, instructional, organizational, risk/crisis, and health communication.
